Requirements for Students New to Long Beach City College
Students enrolling at Long Beach City College for the first time should have the following grades (overall GPA) and test scores (SAT, ACT or the equivalent) to qualify for the Honors Program:

Requirements for Students Currently Enrolled at Long Beach City College
Students currently enrolled at Long Beach City College qualify for the Honors Program if they have a 3.0 overall GPA in twelve or more college units (at least 80% in courses numbered 1-99) and are qualified for English 1.
Continued superior academic achievement is required to remain in the Honors Program (a minimum 3.0 GPA).
Students who do not meet the general requirements for participation in the Honors Program may be admitted to individual honors courses through an interview process.
